The Promotion Policy has been developed to complement the expectations and responsibilities conferred on us by the educational standards of the CBSE Board. S.A.V Jain Day Boarding School has been established to ensure that every student is a life long learner and passes the school with a high knowledge base.

Rules And Regulations

The policy sets academic expectations clearly so students can prepare with confidence.

The Policy
  1. Defines the expectations we hold for all students.
  2. Ensures that the student's promotion to a higher grade is based on all parameters specified by CBSE's CCE policy.
  3. Decreases detentions to the maximum extent possible.
  4. Ensures students are prepared to pass the CBSE board examinations of Grade XII.

Terms & Assessment

Continuous and comprehensive evaluation helps monitor overall academic development through the year.

CCE Schedule

The school will have two terms. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) refers to a system of school-based assessment that covers all aspects of a student's development. It is continuous from the beginning to the end of the academic year and comprehensive in nature as it covers scholastic and co-scholastic assessment.

  1. Formative Assessment I in the month of April - May.
  2. Formative Assessment II in the month of July - August.
  3. Summative Assessment I in the month of September.
  4. Formative Assessment III in the month of November - December.
  5. Formative Assessment IV in the month of January - February.
  6. Summative Assessment II in the month of March.

Primary School Promotion

Promotion requirements help build a strong academic foundation and regular study habits.

Classes I - V

Every student will be expected to:

  1. Have a minimum 75% attendance.
  2. Receive a minimum of Grade D in all subjects.

Grades V - IX Promotion

Students must maintain attendance and minimum subject performance to qualify for advancement.

Promotion Policy

Every student will be expected to:

  1. Have a minimum 80% attendance to qualify for sitting in the final exams.
  2. Receive a minimum of Grade D in all subjects.
